What began as a simple curiosity in tuning a guitar differently mushroomed into an avocation so far reaching that a children’s book and apprenticeship workshop have sprung forth.

Singer/Songwriter Mardi Garcia discovered in November 2014 as she began experimenting with lowering her guitar tuning from A=440 (standard concert pitch) to A=432 (8 cycles per second difference) that the effect on her singing was enormous. The new frequency enabled her to perform for longer without getting fatigued. Beautiful tones that previously she had never experienced are produced using this frequency. It also opens up 4 additional octaves that are not accessible in standard pitch. Stringed instruments are less stressed and perform optimally.

440 hertz and above frequencies produce thin, head centered sounds, additionally, disassociate the connection of consciousness to the body, warps instruments and damages vocal chords. Music in 432hz appears to be non-local and can fill a room and has the feeling of being heart centered.

The Frequency 432 cycles per second is what is known as The Golden Mean. Ancient instruments and planetary measurements align with this ratio. Tibetan bowls handmade by monks as well as Stradivarius violins are tuned thus in The Golden Mean, aka The Divine Proportion.  Typically found in New Age meditation music, 432hz has the potential to regenerate damaged cells and DNA and established a more heart centered musical experience.

Mardi offers performances that are loud, resonant, drums/percussion oriented group jam sessions designed to encourage harmonic melodic vocal beauty in music to the public in this tuning.
